The Sunday Spotlight

Welcome Joanna and  thank you for joining us today!

Firstly can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Joanna and I am originally from Poland, I started writing when I was in my teens. Currently I live in Uk in rainy Wales. When I don't work I read and write most of the time.

What inspired you to start writing novels for your chosen genre?
I was inspired by British folklore and other books, I had the idea in my head for a while but I never had time to finally put it down on the paper. I knew that I wanted to write a romance with supernatural creatures so one day I began writing and I never stopped.

Are there any other genres you’ve written?
I am currently working on contemporary romance. It's the first time that I started with a new genre and it's coming along nicely.

Have you published any other novels, if so can you share the details?
I am just about to publish £6.19 per Witching Hour which is a brand new paranormal romance series. I am super excited about this book and I can’t wait to start working on the sequel

Are you working on anything new right now?
I always working on something, yes I am around 40,000 words through with my contemporary romance novel.

What inspires you to write?
I am not a full time writer as of yet but this is what I am aiming for.  I started writing when I was in school I wrote few children books which weren’t very good. Then I had a huge gap in my writing career,  when I went to University all my ideas hit me again and I started writing ‘The Whispers of the Sprite’ I have always wanted to create a fantasy novel.

Can you offer any advice to the fledgling authors, just starting out?
Just read a lot and write even more. Don't be afraid to put your work out there.
Never give up

What is your all-time favourite novel?
Gone with the Wind

Who is your all-time favourite author?
 JK Rowling

What are you reading at the moment & would you recommend it to us?
Gone Girl, I don't normally read that sorts of genre but I would definitely recommend it

Do you have a favourite quote?
No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress. You're still way ahead of everyone who isn't trying.
Tony Robbins

How do you come up with the Titles for your novels?
I am always struggling but in the end I tell myself  before I fall asleep that in the morning I will have a title and in the end this works.

When working on your current novel, were there any moments when you thought:- OMG what am I doing?
I am in that kind of moment right now, I never written contemporary romance so I don't know if what I am writing makes much sense. Once I finish I will have a clearer picture of the story and then it will be a decision time.

Do you have a day job, other than writing?
Unfortunately I do. I work as a Employment Advisor full time but hopefully in a year or so I can devote my time to writing.

What is your preferred method of writing:-  The plot pre-planned from day one, or just go with the flow and see what happens next?
My last book I just went with the flow and finished the book within a month. The one that I am currently working on I pre planned a few chapters so I know what is going to happen next.
