Talking with Christine
The Sunday Spotlight
Welcome Christine and thanks for being here!
Firstly can you tell us a little about yourself?
I love reading and writing and particularly learning about horses. I guess that’s why I teach horse studies and have a love for writing about them! I live in North East Victoria, Australia and have one horse of my own that I’ve had for the past 15 years.
Are you working on anything new right now?
Yes! My husband is from a tropical island where horses don’t exist, so I’ve been working on a piece based on a character that moves to this island and decides to import horses and start a horse business. I think it’s going to require a lot of research, but will be lots of fun.
What is your all-time favourite novel?
The Silver Brumby.
Who is your all-time favourite author?
As per the Silver Brumby, Elyne Mitchell!
Do you have a favourite quote?
Do you have a day job, other than writing?
Yes. I teach about my passion at a local TAFE.
Which type of book do you prefer to read?
Hmm… I think a paperback! I love the feel of a book in my hands and it’s nice to have the flexibility of the paperback cover J
Do you have any input in the Cover design of your novel?
Absolutely. I detailed what I was looking for, and then it worked out that a photo I’d take whilst at work on a stud a few years earlier was fitting for the cover photo.
Are you a:
a. Laptop Writer
b. Desktop Writer
c. iPad Writer
d. Pen and Paper Writer
I guess this has evolved over time. I’m now a laptop writer as it’s so convenient and I type faster than I write. If I’m dying to get an idea down though and I’m not near a laptop or computer, I’ll pen it to paper or even text myself a shortened version!
What is the one book you can’t live without?
Thanks again to Christine for joining us today and I hope you enjoyed a brief but fascinating insight into her life!
